One of the most important and endearing aspects of Nu-Glaze Holdings is the reach & teach program. This program helps those who are willing by teaching them how to use the Nu-Glaze products to earn an income. Thanks to millions of homes, public and government buildings built with steel windows, there is ample opportunity to install and repair. This in turn creates employment opportunities for painting and maintenance workers.
Community development focus
Most of the RDP (Reconstruction and Development Program) or People Housing Projects require contractors to train and use a certain percentage of the local community in their projects, helping build and develop skills throughout South Africa.
With Nu-Glaze, these trained installers have an immediate way to a sustainable income. We have trained, equipped and supported a large number of unemployed people of all ages, genders and ethnic backgrounds, as well as disabled people to date and plan to continue doing so as part of our contribution to a stable economy.
Professional standards
Installers using our system mostly are self employed and work under supervision of the client and to the client's specifications. Provided that the installation instructions are used as the minimum standards.
Official training recognition
Nu-Glaze Holdings takes this very seriously indeed and are in the process of registering the training program with CETA (Construction Education and Training Authority) as a standard qualification.
National qualifications framework
The dream is to issue the trained installers with a certificate of competence that also carries the NQF (National Qualifications Framework) level 2 credit. This could initiate and contribute to the learning pathways of participants with a passion to better themselves.
